Was ist “Plant for the Planet” ?

Die Stiftung “Plant for the Planet” möchte das Ökosystem Wald weltweit
wiederherstellen und durch Aufforstung den Klimawandel verlangsamen.
2006 wurde die 1 Milliarde Bäume Kampagne von der
Friedensnobelpreisgewinnerin Wangar Maathai begonnen.
UNEP an die Kinder der Stifung „Plant for the Planet” übergeben.

gehen an das Projekt: „Research Forest Plan Be“ in Mexiko.

What is “Plant for the Planet” ?

The organization “Plant for the Planet” wants to restore the forests across
the planet.
In 2006 , the One Billion Tree campaign was initiated by Wangar Maathai,
a Nobel Peace Price Laureate. The reforestation will not stop the climate
change, but it shall buy the time to solve the problems leading to the
climate change. When Wangar Maathai passed away, the UNEP handed
over the campaign to the children from “Plant for the Planet” with a new
higher goal of a Trillion trees planted. In 2011 the Trillion Tree Campaign
was born. Since 2006, 14 billion trees were planted. The yearly loss of tree
is estimated to be around 10 billion trees. Your Support is needed!

Which project will be supported?

The donations raised through sold calendars will be given to the “Research
Forest Plan Be Project” in Mexico. This newly (2020) established planting
area shall not only mitigate the effects of the climate crisis but also offer
research institutions the possibility for field trials. A first study was started
by the Cowther Lab (ETH Zurich). Another one was followed in the
summer of 2020 initiated by the Imperial College London. The
experiments have the potential reinstate reforestation efforts globally as a
proof-of-concept for the efficacy and potential impact of soil microbiome
restoration
